Many women think that painful periods, horrible mood swings, and breast
tenderness are an inevitable part of each monthly cycle.  The truth is that hormonal
imbalances, stress, and poor dietary choices can all aggravate PMS.  The flip side is
that bringing your hormones back into balance, changing your diet, and finding
healthy stress outlets can allow you an easy, pain-free period.   With regular
acupuncture treatments, most women notice a change within 1-3 cycles.

Menopause is a hot topic these days with more and more women wanting
alternatives to hormone replacement therapy (HRT).  Acupuncture and Chinese
herbs can help alleviate menopausal symptoms.  By nourishing the "Yin" or the
cooling system of the body, hot flashes, night sweats, and irritability are reduced.
Avoiding "hot" foods such as chili, salsa, nightshades, sugar and coffee can also
help.  You don't want to add more heat to a system that is already overheated.  We
may also order a hormone test to measure your estrogen and progesterone levels.

The body has an amazing ability to heal when given the right tools.  Oriental Medicine
tries to understand where your imbalances are, and what signals your body is
receiving to show signs of disease.  We can then work  to send the body proper
messages on how to exist in a state of health and well being.
